I don't play a ton of classical music these days, but my fancy pieces of paper (degrees) were in classical trombone. I'm thankful for the foundation I got from having studied classical music for the time I did, even though I'm mostly playing in other styles now.
The recordings below are some of the highlights of classical pieces I've played on in the past.
Schnyder's "Duo Concertante" (2004) is a modern chamber music classic: equal parts refined and irreverent, with influences as diverse as jazz, blues, Baroque counterpoint, and contemporary performance art. Tenor trombonist Julie Gray, my longtime friend and colleague, joins me in this live performance.
Since moving to Colorado in 2018 I've been honored to be the newest member of this quartet. Check out this video of our new reimagining of the Christmas classic "Sleigh Ride."
